LABORATORY OF CHROMATOGRAPHY – IC MONTELIBRETTI

 DESCRIPTION: 

In this laboratory, analytical methods of extraction, analysis, recognition and quantification of compounds present in complex matrices, mainly plants, are developed.
The laboratory is equipped with two automatic HPLC systems, with the possibility of single injection or automatic multi-sample injector. If necessary, it is possible to thermostat the injection block to avoid the degradation of the sample, or the analytical HPLC column.
Both systems are equipped with dual-wavelength UV/Vis detectors and managed (analytical conditions and chromatographic traces) individually by the Unipoint/Gilson software.
A third semiautomatic HPLC system is available for semipreparative purifications. In this system, a 305 “master” pump manages the analytical conditions.
The laboratory has a chemical hood for sample handling or solvent filtration in a protected environment and the standard equipment for chemical manipulations (calibrated glassware, filtration systems, automatic pipettes, etc.).

HPLC System 1. Gilson 306 Pump (x2) (equipped with 5mL or 10mL interchangeable heads); Gilson 811c Dynamic mixer; Gilson 805 Manometric module; Rheodyne injection valve; Gilson 232 automatic injector (plus 401 dilutor) equipped with a vial termostatic device; Gilson 155 UV/Vis Detector; Gilson Unipoint system software (plus Gison interface).
HPLC System 2. Gilson 306 Pump (x3) (equipped with 5mL or 10mL interchangeable heads); Gilson 811c Dynamic mixer; Gilson 805 Manometric module; Rheodyne injection valve; Gilson Aspec automatic injector (plus 401 dilutor) equipped with a vial termostatic device; Gilson 155 UV/Vis Detector; Gilson Unipoint system software (plus Gison interface).
HPLC System 3. Gilson 305 Pump (x2) (equipped with 5mL or 10mL interchangeable heads); Gilson 811c Dynamic mixer; Gilson 806 Manometric module; Rheodyne injection valve; Gilson 112 UV/Vis Detector.
Other instrumentations:
Thermostating system for HPLC columns; Gilson 306 HPLC pump; Gilson ELS Detector; Rheodyne injection valve loops (from 5mcL to 1000mcL, metal and peek); Millipore vacuum pump (for solvents and buffers filtration); Chemical vacuum pump Vacuubrand MZ2/C; Magnetic stirrer/heater IKA; Chemical hood Kotterman 120; Cabinet for chemicals Kotterman; Standard equipment for a chromatography laboratory (vials, HPLC syringes, automatic pipettes, graduated glasswares, etc).
