SINGLE CRYSTAL X-RAY DIFFRACTION LABORATORY KAPPA-CCD – IC BARI

 DESCRIPTION:

The KappaCCD Bruker-Nonius single crystal X-ray diffractometer provides diffraction data (collected at room or low-temperature) enabling to carry out:
1) research activity aimed at solving crystal structures with different composition and complexity (small and medium molecules, up to about 150 non-H atoms in the asymmetric unit): drugs, compounds of technological interest, natural (e.g., minerals) and synthetic samples (organic, inorganic and metalorganic compounds), air-sensitive and/or thermolabile compounds;
2) service activity for research organizations, universities, industries, aimed at data collection and/or structure solution.

 INSTRUMENTATION:

The KappaCCD Bruker-Nonius single crystal X-ray diffractometer is equipped with:
– a FR590 generator (max power 3kW);
– an X-ray tube (Molybdenum fine focus anode);
– a graphite monochromator;
– a Kappa-axis goniometer (sample to detector distance: 25 – 170 mm;  Kappa axis:  -175° to +175°; 2θ axis: -90° to +135°; ω axis: -210° to +210°; Φ axis: n . 360°);
– a two-dimensional CCD detector;
– a video microscope;
– a device for low-temperature measurements (nitrogen cryostat, 700 Series Cryostream Gas Cooler, operating temperature range: 80-400 K);
– a device for the treatment of air-sensitive and/or thermolabile compounds (X-Temp 2).
