Attività di Ricerca :

Development of research lines with high potential for technology transfer based on quantitative analysis of biological processes. The research aims to unravel the molecular mechanisms and signal networks underlying improved phenotypes under stressful or extreme environmental conditions and integrate them into biotechnological useful processes. These studies found applications in the Agri-food and Environmental Sciences through the development of optical and electrochemical bio/sensors detecting pollutants, and Space Research with the development of nanoparticles-based countermeasures for treatment of microgravity-induced osteoporosis, and design of algae-based life regenerative supporting systems for long-term space missions. These activities are performed thanks to a consolidated experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, and biotechnology applied to fundamental research and technological transfer.
