DESCRIPTION

Dr. F. Capitelli is skilled within structural characterization via X ray diffractometry.
Within the studies on inorganic compounds with technological interest, he performed structural investigations on phosphates with biochemical - (enzyme inhibitors) and applicative interest (ceramics, solid state lasers, soil amendment), and on borates with optical non linear properties (laser applications).

He made studies on minerals, like natural phosphates (apatites, vivianites), and silicates (cordierites, zeolites).

He run also structural investigations on synthesis products with pharmaceutical interest, like molecules with well known antitumor activity (cis-Pt(II) coordination compounds), anti- osteoporosis (geminal bisphosphonates), antilipidemic drug (clofibrate analogues), antibacterial agents (β-lactams), and chiral sulfoxides and steroid analogues used as precursors of compounds with biological interest.
