SOFTWARE : EXPO 2014
The program EXPO2014 is the evolution of EXPO2009 [Altomare et al., J. Appl. Cryst. (2009), vol. 42, pp. 1197–1202].
Reference to EXPO:
A. Altomare, C. Cuocci, C. Giacovazzo, A. Moliterni, R. Rizzi, N. Corriero and A. Falcicchio, “EXPO2013: a kit of tools for phasing crystal structures from powder data”, J. Appl. Cryst. (2013). 46, 1231-1235
EXPO2014 is able to solve crystal structures by powder diffraction data by using reciprocal as well as direct space methods. It is able to carry out the full pathway of the solution process: indexing, space group determination, estimation of the integrated intensities, ab-initio and non ab-initio structure solution, Rietveld refinement. With respect to the previous version, EXPO2014 has been enriched with new powerful computing tools for enhancing the structure solution process, e.g.:
- The covariance principle based completion method (COVMAP) for structure model optimization
- The RAndom Model based Method (RAMM) for structure solution in reciprocal space
- Hybrid Big Bang-Big Crunch approach for structure solution in direct space
The EXPO2014 graphical interface has been optimized and made very user friendly. A few screenshots of the current version of EXPO are shown below.
Registered users can freely download the latest version of EXPO2014 for all the supported operating systems: Windows XP and above, Linux, Mac OS X. The source package is also available and can be easily compiled by users of other Linux distributions or Unix-based systems using the standard GNU development tools.
Previous versions of the package are also available, albeit their use is strongly discouraged due to the continuous improvement, together with the addition of new functionalities, of the most recent version of the packages.
Older versions of EXPO are considered obsolete and can be downloaded by registered users from this web page.
