Innovative health care

Due to the population aging, social assistance and health system have to respond with an integrated approach, aimed to maintain, or regain where it has been lost, the maximum autonomy of patients in a context that must be as de-institutionalized as possible.

Due to the population aging, social assistance and health system have to respond with an integrated approach, aimed to maintain, or regain where it has been lost, the maximum autonomy of patients in a context that must be as de-institutionalized as possible.
Therefore, there is a clear need to define new models and monitoring systems for the health and well-being based also on emerging technologies.
At the best, these models can be developed and applied immediately on the territory to support organizations operating in the context of fragility and chronic diseases.
In response to the challenges of the aging of the national population, thanks to ongoing research and collaborations (including third mission), the IC studies and proposes innovative assistance models and monitoring systems in the following topics:
• define homogeneous structural, organizational and technological standards for territorial medicine;
• sensors and measurement tools for the assessment of physiological parameters, lifestyles and the environment (from a “One-Health” perspective);
• clinical use of telemedicine;
• analysis of social / health data also with advanced techniques (georeferenced systems, analytical models, dashboards, etc.) also for the design of value based indicators.
