La nuova medicina territoriale a supporto delle aree interne

Difficulties in accessing health services in Italian inner areas can be studied through different techniques and approaches, capable of grasping the complexity of the phenomenon and the various aspects involved. In addition to feeding a necessary knowledge of the problem, this is necessary to evaluate the policy making for the improvement of services. The National Recovery and Resilience Plan offers the opportunity to strengthen the health care system, providing for a new organization of proximity services and the creation of new facilities in the area. The contribution intends to present two examples for the study of accessibility to health services in the inner areas, using quantitative and qualitative methods: the first, based on statistical techniques and GIS with the use of georeferenced data; the second, presenting a case study relating to the Basilicata Region, a focus group organized in the field in order to gather, directly from stakeholders, information on the critical issues and opportunities of the regional health system.
