Sibillano Teresa

Bari

Teresa Sibillano graduated in Physics in 2002 at the University of Bari. She obtained her PhD in “Physics of Matter” in 2006 at the Physics Department of the University of Bari, in collaboration with the Institute of Photonics and Nanotechnologies (IFN-CNR) in Bari, by discussing a thesis about the study of  fundamental and applicative processes of matter/radiation interaction, with a particular reference on the use of high brilliance laser sources.

She started in 2006 her postdoc experience at the Institute of Photonics and Nanotechnologies (IFN-CNR) in Bari and from 2012 she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Crystallography (IC-CNR) in Bari.

Since 2016 she has a permanent position as researcher at the IC-CNR in Bari, by focusing her research activities on the structural and morphological characterization of several types of materials by X-rays characterization techniques.

She is co-author of 114 publications (h-index 31, Scopus) in peer-review international journals.

  • Her research activities are focused on the structural and morphological characterization of nanocrystals, nanoparticles or biomolecules in solution, biomaterials, natural and bio-engineered tissues by using laboratory as well as synchrotron sources by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Small and Wide Angle X-ray scattering in transmission (SAXS / WAXS) and reflection (GISAXS / GIWAXS) geometries, X-ray micro and nanoimaging techniques.
  • In the past her research activities were focused on  Laser ablation of materials  UV-VIS spectroscopy of the laser material-interaction.
  • Good organizational skills gained through the organization of several international and national conferences, international schools and project meetings
